Senior Full-Stack Developer
Véora is a Dutch online clinic for medically supervised weight loss. Patients complete a medical intake, verify their identity and pay. A registered doctor reviews their case and decides on treatment, after which a partner pharmacy handles the medication fulfilment.
From there, we support patients throughout their treatment journey with regular check-ins, dose reviews, reorders and direct access to their care team.
Our platform is live and serving paying patients. We are now looking for an experienced full-stack developer to join us and gradually become the primary developer responsible for the day-to-day development of the platform.
You will initially work closely with the developer who built the current platform, allowing for a structured onboarding and knowledge transfer. Over time, we expect you to become increasingly independent in the codebase and take ownership of its ongoing development.
What you'll work on
- Day-to-day development and maintenance of the Véora platform, including patient intake and onboarding, patient dashboard, doctor and admin tools, billing, messaging and email.
- Building new features and improving existing functionality as Véora grows.
- Developing our upcoming patient app and the functionality around check-ins, progress tracking and personalised patient support.
- Payments and billing, including Mollie checkout and mandates, 28-day recurring charges, refunds, discount codes and invoices.
- Maintaining reliable and secure handling of medical and personal data, including Row Level Security, audit logging, privacy by design and medical record retention.
- Integrations including iDenfy, pharmacy workflows, Resend, Customer.io, Sentry, Meta and Google conversion tracking and our affiliate platform.
- Bug fixing, testing, monitoring and improving platform reliability.
- Working with our current developer during the transition to understand the existing architecture and codebase.
- Gradually taking more technical ownership as your knowledge of the platform grows.
- Working directly with operations, medical and marketing teams to turn business needs into reliable and simple product improvements.
Our stack: web platform
- Next.js (App Router) · React · TypeScript · Tailwind CSS
- Supabase (Postgres, Auth, Realtime, RLS, migrations)
- Vercel (hosting, cron jobs)
- Mollie (payments)
- Resend + Customer.io (email)
- Sentry (monitoring)
- Payload CMS
- next-intl (Dutch and English)
Our stack: patient app (iOS and Android)
- React Native with Expo · TypeScript
- Expo Router (file-based navigation)
- NativeWind (Tailwind CSS for React Native)
- Supabase (the same backend and login as the web platform)
- Push notifications (Expo Notifications) and biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint)
- React Native Reanimated (animations)
- i18next (Dutch and English)
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience building and maintaining production web applications.
- Strong TypeScript, React/Next.js and PostgreSQL skills.
- Experience building mobile apps with React Native and Expo, including releasing to the App Store and Google Play.
- Comfortable working independently in an existing production codebase.
- Experience with payments or billing, ideally recurring payments and webhooks.
- Strong attention to correctness, reliability and testing.
- Security and privacy awareness, particularly around authentication, permissions and sensitive data.
- Able to understand an existing architecture, challenge decisions where needed and improve it pragmatically.
- Comfortable working directly with non-technical colleagues and translating requirements into working software.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
Nice to have
- Experience in healthcare, telemedicine or another regulated environment.
- Knowledge of NEN 7510/7513, AVG/GDPR or WGBO.
- Supabase or Vercel experience in production.
- Experience with Customer.io, Resend, analytics, consent and conversion tracking.
- Experience with specialist or high-risk payment providers.
- Experience setting up extensive tracking and analytics.
How the role can develop
We deliberately want to build this relationship step by step.
Initially, your focus will be on learning the platform, working alongside our current developer and increasingly taking over day-to-day development.
Our objective is for you to become the primary developer who can independently develop and maintain the platform. As Véora and the technical team grow, there is room for the role to develop into broader technical ownership or a lead position.
Our current developer will remain involved during the transition and can continue to provide senior technical input where his knowledge of the platform adds value.
What you can expect
- Freelance rate of €75–€85 per hour, depending on experience.
- A flexible engagement that can grow as the collaboration develops.
- An existing production platform with real users rather than a greenfield concept.
- Direct involvement in building the next phase of Véora, including our patient app.
- Short lines with the founder, medical team and other specialists.
- The opportunity to take increasing ownership as Véora grows.
Your application
Send us a short introduction and your CV. We would be glad to hear what you want to build with us.
